That is actually one of the more interesting things I have seen on this board.:)

Weird thing will be how on earth its gonna fit in your case. Surley the backplate thing will stick out too far.

Not everyone on this board spends all of their money on upgrading.... I think it will all come down to costs. If its nice and cheap, you might as well get one when you upgrade. If its expensive, say a little more expensive then a low end PCI-E card then maybe its not such a great thing. And anyway, arent both of you already PCI-E? Your disqualified from this conversation! Damn, I'm all alone. :(

Is there a PCI to AGP adapter around?

It'd be perfect for me... upgrading the mobo and CPU now (or before autumn...) and then getting the new r520 or g70.

No offense, but you guys should really use correct accronyms. You make it sound like it's an AGP to PCI adapter. When in fact it's an AGP to PCI-Express adapter. As ColTim posted above, it would be impossible to have a PCI to AGP adapter because AGP has a much higher bus than PCI.

I'm not trying to flame anyone. I promise that, I've gotten into huge arguments in other places over correct spelling and use of accronyms. Thanks guys.

Rob

Fair enough. One kind of assumes that everybody will know what you mean, becuase its blatently obvious. But if people are going to be picky then i guess we will be carefull to use the correct names.

I corrected it as I thought for a moment you meant PCI and not PCI-E too, even though it made no sense in my head. I don't quite see how it would work on a full sized card though, as it adds a fair amount of height.

The post i made either got deleted or i forgot to post it, BUT it looks like it will only accept half height cards, and seeing as albatron already make graphics cards I would assume they would use it to their benefit and not bother letting anyone else use it, that way it ensures that you have to have an albatron product

Mmm maybe.. probably not.

Nobody right now makes half height cards. If you were to buy one, you would be buying a new graphics card. So why not just buy the normal night AGP one.. and it will kill their egp sales.. just seems to much work for too little return.
